Certified by ARIA in Hunt Seat (on the flat) and Western. I am available to teach Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure (on the flat), and Equitation in both seats. Whether you want to enter the horse show world or just have fun, I can develop a lesson plan to help you reach those goals. I use a kind and understanding approach with all riders. My purpose is to help, not criticize. I will do all that I can to bring out the best in each rider-horse team. Lessons are one hour long and can be done with CMM Equestrian Center horses or your own. You may haul your horse to CMM, however, a recent negative coggins is required. Students groom and tack horses before riding. After riding, students will then untack and groom horses. Rather than just getting on and riding, I also like to teach students terms about the horses and explain the information I am telling them throughout the lesson. Students will learn to practice safety and "horse sense." Children receive a fun folder and learn new terms each week. As per CMM Equestrian Center and myself, all students are required to wear approved riding helmets when mounted on a horse. If the students do not own their own helmet, they may use one of CMM's. Students should wear jeans or breeches--sweatpants or other similar materials can be slippery while riding. A good boot with a heel is also necessary.
