6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry
Uncle Abe wants you!
The Sixth Ohio Volunteer Cavalry is a Civil War reenacting unit based in eastern Ohio, with members from across the tri-state region and Ontario. We train and ride using 1860s’ style military techniques and equipment, both Federal and Confederate. We recreate the action of Civil War cavalry battles, at major reenactments and at local community and school functions.
This year the Sixth Ohio will fight the Battle of Brandy Station on June 7-8 and the Battle of Gettysburg on July 4-6, along with a number of smaller battles and rides, both historical and fictitious. We even expect be deployed to Erie, PA on August 16-17, to defend the local citizens at the “Battle of Thunder Valley Stables”.
If you are interested in joining in the fun or seeing us in action, please check out our
website, or contact us at webmaster@6th-ohio-cavalry.org. We welcome horsemen (and horsewomen) interested in learning to ride and “fight” as part of a cavalry company.

Beginning Cow Working Clinic

(Open to all levels of horse/rider. Sign up soon, very limited space available!)
Invest two days with your horse... Starting building a lifetime partnership.
Everyday, more trainers and clinicians are going down the road teaching steps and exercises and drills in order to help people with their horses and their horsemanship. No doubt, this 'horseman-in-a-box' approach is valuable in teaching the human... but what the horse needs is something different.
If you want exceptional results with a horse, then you need to develop your FEEL.
Learn what it is to FEEL with your horse, and to have him FEEL back to you.

During a beginning cow working clinic, you will expose your horse to cattle in a way that builds interest and confidence. Learn the fundamentals that will give you and your horse a solid foundation for working cattle... whether your goal is cutting, reined cow-horse, team penning, roping, or just pleasure riding.
Every horse, from western pleasure horses to English performance horses to general pleasure trail horses, can benefit from having a real job to do, and working cattle is something that builds confidence and self-control in the horse as well as the rider.
You and your horse will love this experience!
